Warum wir nie auf einen vorgedruckten Kanevas sticken.

Why we never embroider on pre-printed canvas.

We deliberately do not print the embroidery pattern directly onto fabric or canvas. Why?

  1. Only very simple images with little contrasting color can be embroidered on a printed canvas (stramin, canvas, fabrics).

  2. The color symbols are also not visible on the canvas because there are large holes in it.

  3. No canvas is woven perfectly symmetrically both vertically and horizontally. Therefore, each print has a slightly offset pattern. The more stitches there are in the image, the greater this offset becomes.

A portrait implies very soft color transitions and a large number of colors.
This does not make embroidering on pre-printed canvas easier, but more difficult.

Colored sample sheet with 10 different colors:

If the colors are dark, we prefer the large, easy-to-read, black and white pattern. We color the different color areas with colored pencils and cross out the completed stitched sections.

The specific color you use for each symbol is not important; the colors can even vary from sheet to sheet. However, identical symbols on a sheet should always be colored the same, and adjacent symbols must be easily distinguishable by color so that it is absolutely clear which areas you intend to stitch.

This way you can better embroider difficult designs with many colors and enjoy the result!

What we recommend to our customers:

- Before you begin work, you should apply 10 x 10 stitch grid lines to the canvas, as described and shown in the photo in the instructions.

- Next, we embroider according to the printed pattern on paper, focusing on the grid lines. These lines are also found in the embroidery pattern and on your fabric.

- Cross out the stitched lines on the paper pattern.

- Embroidery is quick and convenient. On the paper pattern, you select the symbol you want to embroider and stitch that color onto the fabric until the thread runs out. You can then easily navigate within the grid.
